Actuarial Scholarships for Minority Students 
There is no specific formula that will guarantee that you will get a scholarship from the SOA/CAS Joint Committee on Minority Recruiting. Listed on this page are the qualities scholarship recipients often possess and other positive considerations.

Aldridge Foundation - Education & Scholarships - Oklahoma 
The Aldridge Foundation will entertain grant proposals from Organizations that have been awarded the 501(c)(3) designation by the Internal Revenue Service. The Foundation supports innovative teaching methods that address common problems, and may be replicated in other venues. Providing an avenue for self–improvement is paramount in making grant decisions.

Allen P. and Josephine B. Green Foundation - Missouri & National Focus 
The Allen P. and Josephine B. Green Foundation is a private foundation with about $11 million in assets. The mission of the Foundation can be summed up as “Improving the quality of life in Missouri”. Grants are not made to projects outside of the United States. The State of Missouri is strongly favored as the targeted geographical area. Alliant Energy Foundation - IA, WI, MN 
The Alliant Energy Foundation™s Scholarship Program has established partnerships with a number of colleges and universities within the company™s utility service area (Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin) to support the higher education financial needs of worthy students.

American Association of Law Libraries 
George A. Strait Minority Scholarships are awarded annually to college graduates with meaningful law library experience who are members of a minority group as defined by current U.S. government guidelines, are degree candidates in an accredited library or law school, and who intend to have a career in law librarianship. Applicants must show evidence of financial need.

American Geological Institute 
The broad goal for this program is to maintain and increase incrementally the number of underrepresented ethnic–minority students in the geosciences. Recipients of AGI Minority Geoscience Scholarships are provided with financial awards ranging from $500 to $3,000 and given the opportunity to interact with a mentor from the geoscience community within our AGI MPP Advisory Committee.

Each year the American Speech–Language–Hearing Foundation (ASHF) offers several scholarship and grant competitions to graduate students and new researchers in the field of communication sciences and disorders.

Annette Urso Rickel Foundation - Teaching Scholarships 
The Annette Urso Rickel Foundation provides opportunities for individuals to realize their potential as math and science teachers. The Foundation mission is enhance the quality of primary and secondary teachers by supporting their education.
