The CARLISLE Foundation operates two distinct categories of funding: ANNUAL GRANTS and
LONG TERM GRANTS. Annual Grants make up the majority of CARLISLE funding

B. Cox Charitable Trust - New England -
The Trust funds projects in New England in the areas of health, education and the
environment. The Trust also makes grants to support the development of philanthropy in New
England. The Trustees are interested particularly in projects which primarily benefit
underserved populations and disadvantaged communities in New England, as well as projects
which focus on prevention rather than remediation.
John LeClair Foundation
Funding Priorities: Non profit, tax exempt Vermont organizations that sponsor programs
specifically dealing with children from prenatal to age 18 may qualify. Programs and grups
not currently carrying a tax exempt status may apply but will not be given priority
consideration.
The Spoehr-Clarke Foundation
The Foundations mission is to make grants to grass-roots groups and individuals
working in the areas of wildlife and wilderness protection, the environment, and animal
welfare. The Foundation encourages groups or individuals who may not be funded by larger,
more traditional foundations to apply. Nonprofit institutions with specific needs or
programs may also qualify for grants. The grant-making is currently limited primarily to
Vermont, New Hampshire and Hawai'i.
The Turrell Fund
The Turrell Fund's main purpose is to support social and educational activities that will
contribute to the development of young people from families which could not afford these
services without help. The Fund supports programs located in the States of New Jersey and
Vermont. In New Jersey, the primary emphasis is on the needs of northern urban areas,
specifically Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union Counties.
Union Carbide - Community
(Morrisville)
The Union Carbide Foundation, a $10 million charitable trust, funds programs that address
education, cultural and ethnic diversity and environmental protection.
