The Aspects of Life Fund is a programme whereby the company and our employees can make a
true contribution to the communities in which we live and work by donating to charities.British

The Association carries out a range of Special Projects each year. These are activities or
initiatives undertaken on the basis of project funding in response to either opportunity
or need.

BTs present community involvement is concentrated in four main areas: Charitable
donations (£15 million a year and benefits in kind). Sponsorship of community endeavours

Brother's Brother Foundation - International
The Brother's Brother Foundation (BBF) is a 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to helping the
less fortunate people of our world. Our mission is to distribute donated medical,
educational and agricultural resources throughout the world without regard to race, creed
or politics.

specific telecommunications requirement; those with the goal of improving access to, or
understanding of, communications; those linked to the theme of 'communication' in its
broadest sense. Preference is given to projects which have a strong focus on education,

Aid Foundation
The Grants Council distributes around £400,000 every year on behalf of CAF; it
distributes much more on behalf of Government, Companies, Foundations and other donors.
CharitiesDirect
CharitiesDirect is an information service for use by charities, professional advisers and
everyone else involved with or interested in the charity sector. The service covers around
5,000 of the UK's leading charities with information drawn from CaritasData's Charities
Database.
Charity Know How
Charity Know How (CKH) is a grantmaking body which combines the funds and knowledge of 14
grantmaking Trusts, charitable Foundations and individuals, and the
Department for International Development (DfID) of the British Government.
Church Urban Fund
Building on the work of the churches in England's Urban Priority Areas, the Fund supports
practical, locally inspired initiatives which enable people to overcome despair, turn
ideas into action and bring new hope to their lives and the lives of their communities.

Commonwealth Foundation
The Commonwealth Foundation is an intergovernmental organisation funded by Commonwealth
governments. It provides travel grants and facilitates networking and training
opportunities to encourage inter-country exchange and co-operation among non-governmental
organisations, professional and cultural bodies of the 53 Commonwealth countries.

GEC Community Service give donations to many charities including the Samaritans, National
Aids Trust, Benevolent Association, MIND, Disablement Income Group, The Royal Association
for Disability and Rehabilitation (RADAR) and many more.

Higher
Education Funding Council for England
The HEFCE is keen to promote good practice in teaching and learning and research, as well
as in the management of higher education institutions. Since its establishment in 1992 the
Council has funded or co-sponsored over 20 initiatives to develop learning opportunities,
scholarship and management practice.

The Council is concerned with the funding of colleges and institutions of higher education
and universities in Wales. It also has the power to fund higher education in further
education colleges.

The King's Fund is an independent health charity which exists to support the health of the
people of London.
London Community Foundation
London Community Foundation is a charitable organization which focuses on enhancing the
quality of life in London, and Middlesex, Elgin and Oxford counties. It is a vehicle to
fulfil philanthropic interests in and help you give something back to the community that
has enriched your life over the years.

Whitley Animal Protection Trust
This year, as the award scheme broadens its focus from animals to wider nature
conservation issues, the Whitley Award Scheme is to be further enhanced as the funds
