| The Agnes M. Lindsay Trust was formed in 1939 in New Hampshire. It currently awards grants that support health and welfare organizations, particularly those serving individuals with special needs, including the blind, deaf, learning disabled, the elderly, and children. Organizations funded include (but are not limited to) children’s hospitals, youth/family services, children’s homes, summer camps and enrichment programs, hospice care, and programs for those with disabilities. |

Betterment Fund

| Although the traditional recipients of Mr. Bingham's benefactions continue to be of special interest to the Fund and scholarship support continues to be a significant activity, the Betterment Fund has come to view the areas of education and health more broadly, and will consider requests from qualified institutions and organizations whose activities promote education or health improvement and which have the potential to have a significant positive impact on the lives of Maine residents in these areas. |

Bingham Program
|
|
| The Bingham program funds projects in three areas: (1) health professions development, (2) community health programs, and (3) public health policy development. Current foundation initiatives are Health Professions Development, Public Health Policy Development. There are two types of Bingham Program grants available: Discretionary grants are made throughout the year and awards are up to $5,000. There are no deadlines but grantees should call first to discuss the proposed project. Program grants are made twice a year and generally range from $6,000 to $25,000. Occasionally higher amounts are awarded. Multi-year proposals of up to three years are accepted but the project should demonstrate logical growth over time. The application deadlines are April 1 and October 1. Grantees must call to discuss the project before submitting a proposal. |
