Adirondack Community Trust - New York
| The vast majority of ACT's funds do not accept applications for support, as the grantmaking is either advised by a living donor or is predetermined by a specific fund purpose (such as an annual scholarship award or a designated annual grant to a specific nonprofit organization). There are, however, a small number of funds at ACT to which grant seekers can apply for support. Each of these funds has unique interests, from supporting youth to focusing on health to funding projects only in a particular geographic area. Through careful assessment of the needs of the Adirondack Region, ACT focuses its grantmaking on several broad categories: Arts and Humanities, Animal Welfare, Community Development, Education, Environment, Health, Historic Preservation, Libraries, Recreation, Social Services and Youth Programs. |

Bay and Paul Foundations
| Over the past decade we have come to understand that almost any school-based initiative that exhibits effectiveness and sustainability depends to a great extent on the collaborative capacity of the faculty. Accordingly, the majority of our grants are now directed to professional development with an emphasis on facilitative, distributive leadership and to the intentional interruption of inequitable policies, practices, and cultural norms. Though the Executive Director is happy to receive letters of inquiry, in the domain of K-12 professional development we do not accept unsolicited proposals. Any grants to chamber ensembles are now subsumed under our arts-in-education grants which for first time grants are geographically restricted to the greater New York City metropolitan area. |
