| When considering grant requests Alaska Airlines favors organizations and efforts that are most likely to enhance a community's cultural and economic vitality and improve the quality of life for its citizens. General contribution categories are education, social/cultural, healthcare, arts/humanities, civic, the environment and community activities. We focus on communities served now or in the near future by Alaska Airlines and where a significant number of our employees live or work. Given limited resources, contributions are concentrated in areas with the greatest number of employees, in Alaska or Washington State for example. |

| The Anderson-Rogers Foundation makes grants to 501(c)(3) organizations that address a variety of social and environmental needs. The Foundation is particularly interested in funding programs in the following areas: Family planning and abortion rights; Child welfare; Improvement of parenting knowledge and practices; Environmental education and activism, with an emphasis on restoring and preserving habitat and protecting endangered animals; Adult literacy; Promotion of humanist values and separation of church and state. The Foundation gives preference to proposals for innovative projects or general operating support from small, hands-on organizations that that may be lacking in financial support from other organizations. Before submitting a complete proposal, applicants must send a brief letter of inquiry, not to exceed two pages, describing the organization or project for which support is sought. The pre-application letter is not an optional step; please do not send a full proposal. |
