Ford Foundation
| In 2005, five million people became infected with HIV and three million died of the disease. Around the world, more than 40 million of us live with HIV. Ignorance and discrimination persist, making it difficult for many people to access services, care and treatment. Grants made through the foundation's country and regional offices have been the cornerstone of our work, ensuring that our actions are relevant to people living with HIV and to those who are most at risk. Our new Global Initiative will extend the impact of this work by bringing the knowledge and experience of our local grantees to global dialogue and policy-making forums.
Our commitment to defeating HIV/AIDS builds on two decades of experience funding innovative work on five continents.

Jerome Robbins Foundation - HIV, Arts - National Focus
| Jerome Robbins established the Foundation in 1958, in honor of his mother, with the intent to support dance, theater, and their associative arts. Later, following the outbreak of AIDS, he directed Foundation resources to the AIDS crisis which contributions continue today. Before his death, Mr. Robbins conveyed his wish that the Foundation extend its resources to the performing arts – dance and theater especially, though not exclusively. Accordingly, the Board of Directors will review applications they feel address Mr. Robbins’ endeavors in these areas. All applications to the Jerome Robbins Foundation must include a complete description of the work or project needing funding and should include an itemized budget and/or audited financial statements. The description should not exceed three pages, excluding financials, although additional material may be included in an annex. Deadlines for submission are February 1, July 1, and November 1. Applications may take three to four months to evaluate and funds for specific projects are not granted retroactively. |
