The Engage 2020 Innovation Grants offer arts organizations the opportunity to apply for one-year grants of up to $75,000 for the design and implementation of programs that build on the findings of the Alliance's Research into Action: Pathways to New Opportunities report and advance us toward the long-term goal of doubling Greater Philadelphia's cultural participation by the Year 2020.
As a key strategy in the Engage 2020 initiative, the Engage 2020 Innovation Grant Program seeks to fund innovative and compelling strategic market development plans that address one or more of the key findings outlined in Research into Action: Pathways to New Opportunities.
Sharing knowledge and information is a primary component of the Engage 2020 program. To this end, it is expected that organizations chosen to participate will produce "case study-worthy" results and that their work will educate and inspire arts organizations in the region and across the country to follow their lead. Projects can focus on innovation in product development, audience experience, marketing & communications, or new market development. It is up to the applicant to determine the most compelling and effective way to embrace the key findings and/or implications outlined in Research Into Action: Pathways to New Opportunities and engage their audience.
Organizations may request a grant award of up to $75,000. Total project costs may exceed this amount provided full project funding is secured from additional sources. If a grant is awarded, it will be for the amount requested. Grant projects must begin no earlier than July 1, 2010 and be completed no later than October 31, 2011.
