| Welcome...
The following are the new
funding opportunities and items of interest we have identified in the last several days:
Copyright Violation - Grants.biz
We have found out that a company that advertises Government Grants has
copied one of Fundsnet Services pages and is offering as part of their
services to subscribers. This copying of course constitutes a
violation of copyright law, since they have taken our page and placed
it on their site without authorization. We are referring to the site
Grants.biz which offers access to their 'data base' of government
grants to subscribers that pay from $39.99 to $59.99. We just want to
make our visitors who either subscribe or are thinking of subscribing
to their service, of the type of company they are. We have taken
screenshots of the page they have stolen and placed on their site.
New Fundsnet Services site
We have begun to transfer all information from the present
Fundsnet Services site to our new information retrieval system. Once
we have completed the process, the new site will replace the "old"
Fundsnet Services site providing all our visitors with a much more
user-friendly interface. To take a 'peek' at what will be the new
Fundsnet Services site
please click here. Please do not bookmark the new site or pages
within the new site - they will be rendered obsolete once the site is
activated. Three items of interest:
1. the search capability will perform a search for search terms
within the description of all resources. If you are searching for
information on "art grants' just enter the search term "arts" and you
will receive all resources that provide funding for the arts - we will
not use the term "grants" because then you will receive all funding
sources in our system.
2. there are foundations that provide funding in several
different areas of emphasis, we have included these foundations in
every section where they provide funding.
3. Fundsnet Services has thousands of resources that will be
transferred to the new site. This is very time consuming since we are
verifying links as we are transferring the information, so your
patience is very much appreciated.
Any comments, observations and or suggestions are always welcomed.
Please send this feedback to "admin" at Fundsnet Services.

U.S. Grant Web Site Doesn't Work With Macs (Feb 14, 2005)
A government Web site that aims to serve as a one-stop shopping point for
scholars and others in search of federal grants is creating headaches for
users of Macintosh computers. The site's electronic forms for would-be
applicants aren't Mac-compatible. "Frustration kind of goes through the
roof," said Mark Tumeo, vice provost for research and dean of the college
of graduate studies at Cleveland State University.
