Long Beach Community Foundation - California
The Long Beach Community Foundation was originally founded in 1996 as the Greater Long Beach Foundation in collaboration with the Estate Planning & Trust Council of Long Beach, local community leaders, and the California Community Foundation. Grant recipients must be valid 501(c)(3) organizations, and we perform due diligence to verify good standing prior to awarding the grants. The Community Foundation makes grants to nonprofit programs that make Long Beach a better place to live. The granting process is strategic rather than competitive in nature, and except for the Knight Foundation’s Community Benefit Fund, the Foundation does not accept grant applications. Idaho Community Foundation
The mission of the Idaho Community Foundation is to “enrich the quality of life throughout Idaho.” Grants are awarded through the Regional Grant Cycle for a wide range of organizations and for a wide range of projects consistent with that mission. Grants are made to fund activities, services, and projects of established organizations, as well as to provide assistance for new organizations to fill unmet and/or emerging community needs. The John William Jackson Fund was established in memory of John Jackson in 2000 by friends and family, including Marcus and Pat Meier of Monti Antico, Italy, and Bill and Jackie Jackson of Boise, Idaho. The mission of the Idaho Women’s Charitable Foundation’s Pooled Grant Program is to research and nominate proposals for the ballot that best meet the criteria of the Idaho Women’s Charitable Foundation. A committee of members manages the annual pooled grant program. IWCF funds nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations serving southwestern Idaho. The guiding principle will be to select projects that because of their existence will make a significant impact within the greater Treasure Valley and to annually choose projects for funding that reflect the breadth of member interest. The Gregory C. Carr Foundation is a non-profit organization whose program activities are dedicated to the environment, human rights and the arts. The Foundation has established a variety of programs in the US and Internationally. We now focus our efforts in Southern Africa where we are teaming with the government of Mozambique to protect and restore Gorongosa National Park and to ensure the wellbeing of the communities living near the park. LEGO Children's Fund - National Focus
The LEGO Children's Fund extends this commitment to local and national organizations that support innovative projects and programming to cultivate and celebrate a child's exploration of personal creativity and creative problem-solving in all forms. Our goal is to prepare the next generation - the builders of tomorrow - for a lifetime of creative learning and innovative thinking. The Foundation awards grants to qualified tax-exempt organizations including educational organizations as defined in USC 26 § 170 (C) with specific, identifiable needs primarily in these areas of support: Early childhood education and development, Technology and communication projects that advance learning opportunities, Sport or athletic programs that concentrate on under-served youth.

Goodrich Foundation - National
The Goodrich Foundation provides support to charitable organizations serving the needs of the public in Goodrich Corporation's United States headquarters and plant communities, to selected educational institutions and selected national groups. The Foundation makes charitable grants in three broad categories: Education; Civic and Community; and Health and Human Services/United Way. The Foundation continues to place high emphasis on quality educational improvements in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). The Foundation is currently updating its focus to include funding diversity and inclusion projects, collaborative community efforts and programs supporting military veterans and their families. The Goodrich Foundation staff reviews grant requests quarterly. Deadlines for proposals are March 1 and August 1.

North Carolina Community Foundation
The North Carolina Community Foundation is the single statewide community foundation serving North Carolina and has made nearly $63 million in grants since its inception in 1988. The Foundation partners with 60 affiliate foundations to provide local resource allocation and community assistance in 66 counties across the state. The J & M Foundation carries on the dreams and aspirations of Joseph and May Winston by making grants for charitable, educational, scientific, artistic and literary purposes. The scope of grants thus far made have primarily focused on education in the United States, Europe and Israel. The Foundation has also made grants to further musical education and medical research.

Hitachi Foundation - National Focus

The Morgan Family Foundation focuses its giving on youth, education, environment, and programs that strengthen community through collaboration and/or development of nonprofit leadership. Jim Moran Foundation - Florida
The mission of The Jim Moran Foundation is to improve the quality of life for the youth and families of Florida through the support of innovative programs and opportunities that meet the ever-changing needs of the community. Grants will be primarily awarded to the Florida counties of Broward, Palm Beach and Duval. The Foundation's funding focuses include: Education, Elder care programs, Family strengthening programs, Meaningful after school programs, Youth transitional living programs. Qualifying organizations interested in receiving funds from The Jim Moran Foundation should submit a Letter of Inquiry which will be reviewed to determine whether the program meets the giving guidelines and funding focus of The Foundation. The Lydia B. Stokes Foundation is committed to the Quaker philosophy of peace, justice and treating all creatures with respect. The Foundation supports building sustainable communities by focusing on social and economic justice, peace initiatives, the environment, women's issues and local food and energy security. Falk Foundation - Pennsylvania
The Falk Foundation is a small foundation primarily supporting organizations located in Pittsburgh and southwestern Pennsylvania. Grant requests submitted from outside the region must be national in scope and impact and address public policies or practices that specifically affect African-American communities. The Foundation does not support operating costs, direct social services, or ongoing programs. The Foundation works to achieve a tolerant, just and inclusive society by reforming racially discriminatory policies and practices, promoting inclusion, increasing access to opportunity, and ensuring fair allocation of public resources. Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation - Ohio
The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life in the Hancock County area through collaborative leadership, responsible grantmaking and development of philanthropic giving. We make grants for a wide range of charitable purposes in areas including, but not limited to, arts and culture, education, health, human services, capacity building and public benefit. Firelight Foundation - Africa
The Firelight Foundation mission is to improve the well-being of children made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS and poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa. We support grassroots organizations that help families and communities meet the needs of their children. Firelight accepts unsolicited proposals from seven countries in Sub-Saharan Africa: Lesotho, Malawi, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. In addition, Firelight awards grants to CBOs in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda through solicited proposals. Our decision to focus on these countries is based on several criteria, including where the highest levels of need for support to vulnerable children are and where community access to donor funds is limited. From the beginning, our approach to grantmaking has been: child-centered, family-focused, and community-based. The Foundations of East Chicago are committed to improving the lives of every resident of our city. The Mary McClellan Foundation promotes and supports the health care needs of the community in the Towns of Cambridge, Easton, Greenwich, Jackson, Salem, and White Creek in Washington County and the Town of Hoosick in Rensselaer County, New York, by making grants to local non-profit organizations which directly or indirectly provide for the health care needs of the community. Any Non-profit organization that provides health care to our service area would be eligible. Also, other non-profit organizations that wish to offer prevention or wellness programs would also be welcome to apply.

The Herzstein Foundation by means of its grant program continues the work of Albert and Ethel Herzstein leaving their "footprints" by supporting charitable efforts that offer individuals opportunities for advancement through education, enrichment of the human spirit, and contribute to the quality of life in our society. Reva and David Logan Foundation - Illinois
The Reva and David Logan Foundation focuses on the areas of education, the arts, religion, the community (including voluntarism and leadership development), civil society, social change and aid to the disadvantaged (including, but not limited to, the sick, the elderly and the poor). DEW Foundation - Education, Arts, Religion, Environment - National Focus
The DEW Foundation supports a wide range of charitable activities from social services and ministries, to education and the arts. The Foundation contributes to medical, relief, welfare, education, community service, ministries and environmental programs, and arts organizations. An organization must have current 501(c)(3) Public Charity status from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), be a government entity, or be an IRS-recognized tribe. Organizations must be located in the continental United States, but may serve populations worldwide. All organizations must submit a letter of inquiry (LOI) to be considered for funding. Your LOI will be reviewed and submitted to our advisory board members to determine their interest in establishing a funding relationship.

Durfee Foundation - California
The Durfee Foundation is named in honor of the late Dorothy Durfee Avery who, with her husband, the late R. Stanton Avery, established it in 1960. Since that time, the Foundation has awarded more than $20 million in grants in the areas of arts and culture, education and community development, primarily in the Los Angeles region. Alden and Vada Dow Family Foundations - Michigan
The mission of the Alden and Vada Dow Family Foundations is to enhance the quality of life, primarily in the state of Michigan, through the funding of programs in the areas of the arts, the environment, education, health and human services, and youth programs. First time applicants that meet the eligibility requirements are asked to submit a request in writing outlining their proposal before sending a formal grant request using our Grant Guidelines. El Paso Corporation Charitable Giving - Texas
El Paso Corporation’s charitable giving is guided by our responsibility to address fundamental needs in the communities where we operate, and by the desire to focus our giving on key areas where we can have a meaningful impact. Currently, our focus is on education and environmental priorities as we support the company’s vision of being the place to work, the neighbor to have, and the company to own. The purpose of the Ellis Family Charitable Foundation shall be to make qualifying gifts, grants, and contributions to religious, charitable, educational, scientific, literary, historical and youth organizations. At least ninety (90%) percent of the benefits to be disbursed by the corporation will be for the benefit of recipient organizations or entities that support the welfare of residents or workers who are employed in Burlington County, New Jersey. First Niagara Bank - New York
First Niagara Bank is committed to the local communities where we live and work. To ensure that the unique needs of the communities are being met through charitable donations, decisions are made regionally. There are four charitable contribution committees around the state: in Buffalo, Rochester, Central New York, and Eastern New York. Each committee meets monthly. Challenge Foundation - National
The Challenge Foundation supports model educational initiatives that make it possible for every American child to attain a high school education that produces literate, factually aware, and thinking graduates second to none in the world. To accomplish our mission, the Board of Trustees and Advisory Committee have determined that the Foundation will support model charter schools. The Foundation will also support school choice and education reform projects that promote the charter school movement. Grant proposals are received only at the Foundation's request. Cora Foundation - Religion - National
The Cora Foundation mission is to support Christian based ministries that serve the spiritual, educational, and physical needs of people helping them come to know the love of Christ and live a dedicated Christian life. The foundation accepts unsolicited grant requests. Both new and existing programs meeting the mission, vision and current program areas of the foundation will be considered for grant awards. DeBusk Foundation - Education - Texas
The DeBusk Foundation provides grants of financial assistance to gifted students 12 years of age and under. Grants will be limited to the state of Texas and priority will be given to established organizations engaged in education. Grants will be made to educational organizations only for the purpose of direct enrichment of gifted students. Frees Foundation - Texas
The Frees Foundation reflects the philanthropic vision of C. Norman Frees and Shirley B. Frees by awarding grants primarily in the fields of community services, education, health, and housing. The mission of the Foundation is to support efforts that assist vulnerable and underserved populations achieve self-sufficiency. Emphasis will be given to projects which serve the needs of women, children, youth and families. Geographic preference includes the Metropolitan area of Houston, Texas as well as the State of Texas. George Foundation - Texas
The George Foundation’s approach to the funding of grants is simple – to use its resources for the people of Fort Bend County and to support, strengthen and empower families and children through a broad continuum of community-based services that meet the needs and values of the community. The Trustees have taken the Foundation’s grant approach and categorized it into three areas for grant making: (1) Family Stability, (2) Foundation Initiated Programs, and (3) Scholarships. DanPaul Foundation - National
The DanPaul Foundation will use its resources to help train teachers and parents in early childhood development, protect children from abuse and neglect, stimulate their personal social responsibilities, and offer them opportunities for enrichment and growth into adulthood and beyond. The foundation will also encourage children to be concerned and informed about the environment and the underprivileged, particularly with regard to clean air and water, and adequate housing and proper nutrition for all. there are no geographical limitations for grant requests. The foundation will consider requests from anywhere in the United States, and on some occasions will also consider requests for areas outside the U.S. (international grant making is much more complicated and restrictive as far as legal and fiduciary responsibilities and thus requires different guidelines).

Dorothy F. Thorne Foundation - New England, NY, SC, NM, WA
The Dorothy F. Thorne Foundation was founded in 1997 to support the work of non-profits in the communities where family members live and work. The Foundation is currently active in: New England, New York, South Carolina, Northern New Mexico, Washington State. We value non-profit enterprises that are effective, dedicated and supported by individuals living in the area. Models that are responsive to emerging needs and opportunities are especially valued.

Maier Foundation - Virgina
The primary focus of the Maier Foundation, Inc. is on the furtherance of higher education in West Virginia and on the higher education of West Virginia residents attending colleges and universities elsewhere. Faye McBeath Foundation - Wisconsin
The Faye McBeath Foundation is a private, independent foundation providing grants to tax-exempt nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organizations in the metropolitan Milwaukee area. 1st and 10 Foundation - WV, TN, FL
Chad and Robin Pennington created the 1st and 10 Foundation in 2003 with the mission to build stronger communities by funding programs and institutions that seek to improve quality of life throughout West Virginia, Tennessee and South Florida. Requests for grants are accepted from charitable non-profit agencies and organizations actively working to fulfill the Foundation's goal of building stronger communities. All grant requests are given careful consideration by the 1st and 10 Foundation Resource Council and judged on the unique merits of the individual agency, its goal and mission.

Claremont Savings Bank Foundation - New Hampshire
The Claremont Savings Bank Foundation does not fund grant requests from individuals, religious organizations, or municipalities. Grant requests are encouraged from civic, arts, social service, health and affordable housing organizations. The Foundation’s Board may allocate available funds by type or activity. The Foundation will consider multi-year pledge requests, however, this practice must be limited and monitored carefully due to the restrictions this places on annual grant making. Elizabeth Raymond Ambler Trust  - Connecticut
