  • Luke B. Hancock Foundation
    11/21/02: The Luke B. Hancock Foundation is currently going through a process of dissolution.  Because of this, the Foundation is not currently accepting or reviewing new grant applications. The three trustees in liquidation are in the process of consulting with the former members of the Foundation and counsel to devise a plan for distribution of the assets to other charitable organizations.

    The Walter and Elise Haas Fund currently has the following funding priorities in its fields of support: Arts and Humanities, Community Service and Citizenship, Education, Environment, Human Services, Jewish Life, Professional Ethics. Geographic Limitations: In the categories of Arts, Education, and Human Services, the Fund places highest priority on projects in San Francisco, but also supports activities of unusual merit in Alameda, Marin, and San Mateo counties. Outside this geographic region the Fund considers grant requests only in exceptional circumstances. In the categories of Environment and Jewish Life, the Fund prioritizes projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. In the categories of Community Services and Citizenship and Professional Ethics, the Fund supports projects nationally on a highly selective basis. Prospective applicants should contact the Fund before submitting proposals.
