  International non-profit organization founded by Cerner Corporation that offers financial assistance to families of children with health problems.

• First Responder Institute (FRI) to Fund Purchase of Equipment for Fire Departments. Applications for grants, ranging from $2,500 to $10,000, may be obtained from the FRI Web site starting in January 2003. Departments can complete the grant form and file it electronically, and any U.S. fire department is eligible to submit a grant application. Every quarter, the FRI board of directors will review the applications and determine who will be funded. Details to follow on grant criteria and evaluation. Deadline: Rolling.

• Five Wings Arts Council
  The Five Wings Art Council is one of eleven designated Regional Arts Councils in Minnesota who provide grants and services to nonprofit arts organizations and individual artists on a regional basis. Five Wings provides services to Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd, and Wadena Counties. Funding for these services are provided by the Minnesota State Legislature and the McKnight Foundation.

Funded solely by FirstEnergy Corp., the Foundation extends the corporate philosophy of providing community support.
