  • The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation - Washington DC 
    This Washington, D.C. based foundation was created with the goal of "helping others less fortunate make a better life for themselves and their families, and to assist young people in achieving their full potential", and currently funds projects in four areas: arts and humanities, education, health, and community service.

  • The California Endowment 
    The California Endowment works to expand access to affordable, quality health care for underserved individuals and communities and to promote fundamental improvements in the health status of the people of  California.

  • California Wellness Foundation 
    The Foundation concentrates its grantmaking activities in five areas and 151: community health, population health improvement, teenage pregnancy prevention, violence prevention, and work and health — and while it generally supports organizations located in California or projects that directly benefit California residents, national organizations providing services in California are also considered.

 
  • The Campbell Foundation - Florida
    The  foundation supports not-for-profit organizations or individuals conducting research into the prevention and treatment of HIV, AIDS, and related conditions and illnesses.

  • Captain Planet Foundation, Inc. - Georgia 
    The mission of the Captain Planet Foundation is to fund and support hands-on environmental projects for children and youths. Its objective is to encourage innovative programs that empower children and youth around the world to work individually and collectively to solve environmental problems in their neighborhoods and communities.

  • Carnegie Corporation of New York 
    The Carnegie Corporation of New York was created by Andrew Carnegie in 1911 to promote "the advancement and diffusion of knowledge and understanding." Under Carnegie's will, grants must benefit the people of the United States, although up to 7.4 percent of the funds may be used for the same purpose in countries that are or have been members of the British Commonwealth, with a current emphasis on Commonwealth Africa. National Program: The National Program aims to contribute to a robust democracy fueled by increased educational opportunity, improved institutions of learning, increased civic participation, and immigrant integration (Creating Pathways to Educational and Economic Opportunity; Creating Pathways to Citizenship, Civil Participation and Civic Integration in a Pluralistic Society). International Program: The International Program focuses on the seemingly inexorable growth of globalization, the danger of deepening fragmentation along cultural, regional and religious divides and the role of developing countries in advancing global cohesion and prosperity. The Corporation accepts requests for funding at all times of the year and welcomes inquiries from potential grantees whose work fits our strategic guidelines. There are no application deadlines.

  • The Annie E. Casey Foundation
    Emphasis: Initiatives that have the potential to improve public policies, services systems and major institutions affecting children and families

  • The Casey Family Program
    The Casey Family Program was created to "provide planned, long-term out-of-home care to children and youth, with long-term family foster care as its core."

  • Harold K.L. Castle Foundation - Hawaii
    The Foundation's traditional, historical priorities are private education, youth and family services, and health, with a primary focus on Windward Oahu. However, the broad purpose of the Foundation allows response to any current community concern and a state-wide focus for initiatives that move our communities toward self-determined goals.

  • The C.A.W. Foundation 
    The San Francisco-based C.A.W. Foundation supports public charities in surrounding counties (including limited funding for San Luis Obispo and Seattle, Washington). The Foundation's interests include children, youth, and adults in areas such as, education, human services, health care, and homelessness. Unsolicited proposals will no longer be accepted by The Cleo Foundation (formerly known as the C.A.W. Foundation).

  • CDC Foundation 
    The CDC Foundation operates independently from CDC as a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in the State of Georgia. The creation of the Foundation was authorized by section 399F of the Public Health Service Act to support the mission of CDC in partnership with the private sector, including organizations, foundations, businesses, educational groups, and individuals.

  • Center for Field Research Grants - Environment
    The Center's role is to create a public offering of significant research that addresses scientific, environmental, and public policy problems and issues.

  • Central Indiana Community Foundation
    Emphasis: Hamilton County (Legacy Fund Community Foundation) and Marion County (Indianapolis Foundation)

  • The William McCaskey Chapman & Adaline Dinsmore Chapman Foundation
    The Chapman Foundation makes educational grants for K-12 grade levels in the coastal areas of Monterey County, California, from Marina through Big Sur. Organizations which provide K-12 education in our area of operations are eligible for grants for educational support, and should  consult the Guidance for Grant Applicants included in their web pages.

  • The Chahara Foundation 
    The Chahara Foundation offers general operating funds to Greater Boston-based nonprofit institutions working with and run by lower-income women. We award renewable grants of up to $20,000.

  • The Champlin Foundations - Rhode Island 
    The Warwick, Rhode Island, foundation makes direct grants for capital needs such as the purchase of equipment, construction, and purchases of real property. They do not provide funds for facilities or equipment for agencies who engage in "program activities", such as counseling, and day care, and do not rely solely on applications to allocate grants.

  • Charles A. Dana Foundation
    The Foundation's grant programs are in carefully focused areas of health and education.

  • The Chatanooga Christian Community Foundation
    Preference is given to local, Chattanooga area ministries and organizations. The foundation also offers scholarships.

  • H.S. Chau Foundation - supports educational development in China's poorer regions and enhances educational opportunities for girls.

  • The Chesapeake Bay Trust 
    The Chesapeake Bay Trust provides financial support grants to civic and community organizations, schools and volunteer groups for Chesapeake Bay restoration and education projects in Maryland.

  • Chase Manhattan Bank Sponsorship  - Now J.P. Morgan Chase
    The Chase Manhattan Corporation has a nearly 40-year tradition of making generous contributions to the visual and performing arts.

  • Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange
    Awards grants to promote the study of Chinese culture and society.

  • Chicago Community Trust  
    There are five general substantive categories, under which most grants are classified. These are: Arts and Humanities, Civic Affairs, Education, Health, Social Services.

  • Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs
    Cultural Programming organizes cultural collaborative programs that help Chicago's arts community make the most efficient use of resources and oversees special projects, as well as Cultural Affair's Public Programs and Visual Arts Divisions.

  • Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation
    The Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation, Inc.'s mission is to serve inner city youths who are at risk of dropping out of school by improving their self-esteem, character, work ethic, social adjustment, and academic performance.

  • Child Welfare Foundation - Children and Youth 
    Annually the FOUNDATION makes grants to nonprofit institutions, organizations and agencies who are tax exempt 501c(3) and, in the opinion of our Board, have the ability to accomplish our two primary purposes as listed previously. Other basic qualifying areas are: Programs must be for children in the United States, Grants must reach out in a large geographic area, Grants are for one year only, Many other policies guard the administration of our grants and are distributed to prospective grantees. Applications must be submitted in writing.

  • The Cleveland Foundation  
    Grantmaking Priorities: Arts and culture, Civic affairs, Economic development, Education, Environment, Health, Social services.

  • Cleveland Indians Charities - Northern Ohio 
    CLEVELAND INDIANS CHARITIES (CIC), was established in 1989 to make a positive contribution to the quality of life for Northeast Ohio youth by providing educational and recreational opportunities.

  • Clipper Ship Foundation
    The purpose of Clipper Ship Foundation is to offer financial help to federally tax qualified human service organizations serving the Greater Boston community in order to assist them in fulfilling their goals and broadening the scope of their activities. Special consideration will also be given to emergency disaster situations world wide.

  • Clorox Company Foundation
    The Clorox Company Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life in communities where Clorox employees live and work. The Foundation makes grants, mobilizes employee volunteers and works with community leaders and other funders.

  • The Coca-Cola Foundation 
    The Coca-Cola Foundation aims to provide youth with the educational opportunities and support systems they need to become knowledgeable about the world in which they live and better able to give back to their communities.   • Coles Myer - Australia 
    Coles Myer has a long history of supporting the communities in which it operates. The commitment continues today through philanthropy and donations to a wide range of causes, charities and community groups.

  • Collier County Education Foundation
    The Collier County Education Foundation is a not-for-profit organization, incorporated in 1990, whose initial mission was to find, recognize, reward, honor, and encourage exceptional teachers in Collier County Public Schools.

  • Connelly Foundation 
    Awards Chemical-Dependency Grants. Nonprofits in Philadelphia, Pa., and the greater Delaware Valley region that focus on chemical-dependency may find funding opportunities from the Connelly Foundation. Education, health and human services, cultural and civic organizations in Philadelphia and the greater Delaware Valley region, which includes parts of New Jersey, are eligible to apply for the grants.   • ComCast Corporation - Comcast Foundation
    Each Division of Comcast has its own programs and involvement in community affairs, responding to the needs and interests of the local communities where Comcast does business. Education and Literacy, Community Involvement. The Foundation primarily funds programs that utilize communication technologies to effectively address community needs in the areas of education, literacy, arts/culture, and community service/volunteerism.

  • COM/Electric - Massachusetts (Now part of the NStar company)
    COM/Electric believes that a company has to be more than a business; it must be a full and active member of the community. That's why we help and support a broad range of organizations, residents and programs in the communities we serve.

  • The Commonwealth Foundation - United Kingdom
    The Foundation runs a regular series of programmes in the four broad areas of arts and culture, civil society, Commonwealth understanding and professional exchange.

  • Community Foundation for Greater New Haven
    Will provide funding to the Greater New Haven area - Connecticut.

  • The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties
    Priorities include human and race relations, arts and culture, education, community development, health, human services, environment, and the conservation and preservation of historical and cultural resources.

  • Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan
    The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan solicits, receives and manages charitable contributions from individuals, families, corporations, other foundations and nonprofit organizations.

  • Community Foundation for the National Capitol Region 
    We focus our efforts on the metropolitan Washington, DC region, including the District of Columbia, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties in Maryland, and in communities in nearby Northern Virginia.

  • The Community Foundation of Boone County, Indiana
    Grants are made for the purpose of improving the quality of life for the citizens of Boone County in one or more of the following areas: Arts and Humanities, Community Development, Education, Scholarships, the Elderly, the Environment, Health, Human Services, or Youth.

  • Community Foundation of Cape Cod 
    The Community Foundation of Cape Cod is a publicly supported, tax-exempt organization designed to foster and encourage philanthropy and charitable giving in Barnstable County, Cape Cod.   • Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore - Maryland
    Emphasis: The Foundation manages and distributes monies from individual funds in the areas of education, health and human services, arts and culture, community development and conservation, and historic preservation.

  • Community Foundation of Greater Flint - Michigan
    The Foundation makes grants through more than 100 funds in the fields of arts and humanities; advancing philanthropy; community services; education; conservation and the environment; and health, human, and social services.

    Provides financial assistance to the county's non-profit organizations by seeking supporting funding and donations on behalf of all of them.

  • The Community Foundation of Shreveport-Bossier - Shreveport, Louisiana 
    The Community Foundation of Shreveport-Bossier, founded in 1961, receives gifts from individuals, businesses, organizations, and other foundations, and makes grants to nonprofit organizations with 501 (c) (3) status in the Shreveport-Bossier area.

  • Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts
    The bedrock of the Foundation is our donors, those who give back to Southeastern Massachusetts part of the good that has come to them. People and organizations turn to the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts to express their concern for the community. They share a belief in the importance of nurturing a culture of caring.

  • The Compton Foundation 
    The Compton Foundation was founded to address community, national and international concerns in the fields of Peace & World Order, Population, and the Environment. Other concerns of the Foundation include Equal Educational Opportunity, Community Welfare & Social Justice, and Culture & the Arts. Deadlines: The cut-off date for receipt of proposals to be considered at the May meeting is February 15. The cut-off date for receipt of proposals to be considered by the Board at their December meeting is September 15.

  • ConAgra Foundation 
    We focus our resources in these areas: Education, Health and Human Services, Arts and Culture, and Civic and Community Betterment.

  • Conservation, Food & Health Foundation
    The Foundation's primary purpose is to assist in the conservation of natural resources, the production and distribution of food, and the improvement and promotion of health in the developing world.

  • Greater Columbus Arts Council
    The Greater Columbus Arts Council, a not-for-profit organization, encourages and supports cultural development in the Columbus area.

  • Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation  
    Our mission is to insure early and accurate diagnosis of CdLS throughout the world, to promote research, and to enable families, friends and professionals to make informed decisions and plans for individuals with the syndrome.

  • Corning Incorporated Foundation
    The Corning Incorporated Foundation has contributed more than $108 million through its programs of giving. Resources are directed almost exclusively toward initiatives which improve the quality of life in and near communities where Corning Incorporated is an active corporate citizen.   • Consumers Energy Foundation - Regional
    Consumers Power Foundation is established to provide financial support to primarily Michigan organizations classified by the Internal Revenue Service as tax exempt under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

  • Cottonwood Foundation  
    The foundation focuses its funding on committed, grassroots organizations that rely strongly on volunteer efforts and where foundation support will make a significant difference. The foundation has very limited amount of funding available and will only award grants to organizations that meet all four of the following criteria: protect the environment, promote cultural diversity, empower people to meet their basic needs, and rely on volunteer efforts.

  • Jessie B. Cox Charitable Trust - New England  
    The Trust funds projects in New England in the areas of health, education and the environment. The Trust also makes grants to support the development of philanthropy in New England. The Trustees are interested particularly in projects which primarily benefit underserved populations and disadvantaged communities in New England, as well as projects which focus on prevention rather than remediation.

  • Charles E. Culpeper Foundation -  Merged with The Rockefeller Brothers' Fund
    The Rockefeller Brothers Fund's grantmaking is organized around three themes: Democratic Practice, Sustainable Development, and Peace and Security, and three pivotal places: New York City, Southern China, and Western Balkans. On October 12, 2006, the RBF trustees approved a new cross-programmatic grantmaking initiative on energy. The Fund also operates the Charles E. Culpepper Arts and Culture Program with emphasis in New York City.
