FAFSA Applications - The FAFSA is the federal application for financial aid, but it is also used to apply for aid from other sources, such as your state or school. Completing the FAFSA, an introductory publication for students, provides instructions on how to complete the online or paper version of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Be wary of organizations that charge a fee to submit your application, or to find you money for school. Some are legitimate and some are scams. Generally, any help that you pay for can be received free from your school or Federal Student Aid.

Point Foundation Opens 2010 LGBT Scholarship Application Season 
The Point Foundation, the nation's largest scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) students of merit, has announced the opening of its 2010 application season. Students who will be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs for the 2010-11 school year are eligible to apply for the prestigious multiyear scholarships.  The 2009 application will be open from December 11, 2009 (5:01am PST) through February 12, 2010 (midnight PST).

AXA Foundation

The Ronald Simon Family Foundation offers assistance to deserving students in their quest to achieve the American dream of independence and self-sufficiency, while positively impacting the lives of others.

Western Union Foundation’s Family Scholarship Program
A new initiative for migrants, immigrants and their families. - The Family Scholarship Program is intended to help two members of the same family move up the economic development ladder through education. Scholarships may be used for tuition for college/university education language acquisition classes, technical/skill training, and/or financial literacy. For example, one family member may request assistance to attend college and the other family member may request assistance to attend English as a Second Language (ESL) course.

Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program 
Through the College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007, Congress created the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program that provides grants of up to $4,000 per year to students who intend to teach in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families. Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Announces Scholarship Competition for Community College Students Seeking Bachelor's Degrees.
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s scholarship programs are designed to encourage and support outstanding students who work hard, demonstrate a strong will to succeed, and have financial need. Our scholarships provide financial assistance and academic support to high school, undergraduate, and graduate students.

Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund
Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund, a program of the Talbots Charitable Foundation, will award $100,000 in scholarships to women determined to finally get that college degree. Five women will each be awarded $10,000 scholarships, and 50 women will each be awarded $1,000 scholarships. All applicants must be seeking an undergraduate degree from an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or vocational-technical school. Only applicants seeking a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university are eligible to receive a $10,000 award. Scholarship awards are based primarily on financial need and previous achievements for women who earned their high school diploma or GED at least 10 years ago.

Tylenol Scholarships for Students in Health. The Tylenol Scholarship will be awarding grants totaling $250,000 — ten $10,000 scholarships and 150 $1,000 scholarships — to outstanding students pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies in a variety of health- related fields.

The Colonel’s Scholars is a program of the Kentucky Fried Chicken Foundation, an independent 501©(3) charity funded by KFC, its employees, franchisees and KFC patrons and seeks to provide high school students scholarship resources to attend post-secondary schools within their states of residence.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities
offers scholarships designed to assist students who face a widening education gap. The goal of the program is to provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors who may need a hand getting and staying in college. Local chapters of RMHC operate the scholarship programs in their respective geographic areas with support from the global office of RMHC, local McDonald's restaurants, and other businesses and organizations in the community.

The Strauss Foundation - California 
The Donald A. Strauss Public Service Scholarship Foundation was created as a memorial to the late Don Strauss, who demonstrated a strong, lifelong commitment to public service and education. Federal PELL Grant

Robert E Evans Educational Foundation

George M. Pullman Educational Foundation
Since 1950, the George M. Pullman Educational Foundation has made a critical difference in the lives of more than 10,000 academically promising, economically disadvantaged Chicago-area students pursuing a post-secondary education. Jewish Foundation for Education of Women Has Various Scholarship Programs Available.  The Jewish Foundation for Education of Women is a private, nonsectarian organization. John T. Sloper Community Fund Grants and Scholarships

Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation
Awards students who have completed at least one full year of higher education. Financial assistance awards range from $500 to $1,500 and merit awards are $1,000. Applications are accepted from December 1 to January 31 of each year. The application deadline is February 15.

Dallas Foundation - Texas 
The Dallas Foundation has a growing number of scholarship funds, each with a different purpose and eligibility requirements. For example, one scholarship might be restricted to graduating seniors from a particular high school, while another might be devoted to students in a specified major.

Denver Scholarship Foundation
DSF offers need-based scholarships to qualifying graduates of Denver Public Schools. The scholarship can be used at 39 Colorado postsecondary institutions (PSIs), including technical and community colleges, state colleges and universities, as well as private institutions. The scholarship, which can be as much as $5,000 a year, is renewable for up to five years depending on the type of college/PSI a student attends.

Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally — is Georgia's unique scholarship and grant program that rewards students with financial assistance in degree, diploma, and certificate programs at eligible Georgia public and private colleges and universities, and public technical colleges. HOPE is funded entirely by the Georgia Lottery for Education, which also funds Georgia's statewide prekindergarten program. Since the HOPE Program began in 1993, over $4.6 billion in HOPE funds have been awarded to more than 1.2 million students attending Georgia's colleges, universities, and technical colleges.

Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship
Google Anita Borg Scholarship recipients will each receive a $10,000 award for the 2009-2010 academic year; Finalists will each receive a $1,000 award. A group of female undergraduate and graduate students will be chosen from the applicant pool, and scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of each candidate’s academic background and demonstrated leadership.

Norfolk Foundation  - Virginia
In 1952 The Norfolk Foundation received its first scholarship fund. Today it administers more than 50 scholarship funds that are helping more than 280 students achieve their academic goals.

Orphan Foundation Offers Scholarships for Foster Care Youth. The Orphan Foundation of America (OFA) is committed to helping parentless teens make the transition from foster care into independent adulthood. The Theodore R. & Vivian M. Johnson Scholarship Foundation is a private, family foundation created in 1991 to provide scholarships and grants to deserving persons who lack the financial means to enable them to attend an institution of higher education.

The Barnes Scholarships - Florida 
The Barnes Scholarships, offered through the St. Petersburg Times Fund, Inc., were established in 1999 to help college-bound teens who are high academic achievers and who have overcome significant obstacles in their lives. The scholarships are named for Andrew Barnes, former chairman and CEO of Times Publishing Co.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund - The scholarships are available on a competitive basis for community college, four-year college, and graduate students of Hispanic heritage. Awards generally range from $1,000 to $3,000.

The AXA Achievement Scholarship Program, conducted in association with U.S. News & World Report and managed by the Citizens' Scholarship Foundation of America, will provide $670,000 in annual scholarships to high school seniors throughout the United States. Fifty-two scholarship recipients, known as AXA Achievers, will be selected — one from each state, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. American Cancer Society, Great Lakes Division, Scholarships
Scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded to selected young cancer survivors to help them pay for higher education. Scholarships are for undergraduate degrees at any accredited Michigan or Indiana college or university and will be awarded based on need to qualified residents who were diagnosed with cancer before their 21st birthday. The Discover Scholarship Program (formerly known as the Discover Card Tribute Awards Program) awards up to $300,000 in scholarships annually to high school juniors nationwide to support continued education and training beyond high school. Connecticut Community Foundation Scholarships 
The Connecticut Community Foundation awards more than 250 scholarships each year. In 2008, over $420,000 went to college students in Connecticut. Scholarship awards are primarily in the $1,000 to $2,000 range. Applicants must reside in one of 21 towns serviced by the Connecticut Community Foundation.

Daughters of the American Revolution
The DAR Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to qualified applicants regardless of race, religion, sex or national origin. All multi-year scholarships, typically renewable up to four years, must be for consecutive years of attendance at an accredited college or university in the United States. The ONLY exception is the American Indian Scholarship that is available for students pursuing vocational training.

College Access Program Grant 
The College Access Program (CAP) helps Kentucky's financially needy undergraduate students attend eligible public and private colleges and universities, proprietary schools, and technical colleges. CAP Grants are awarded to Kentucky residents enrolled for at least six semester hours (half time) in academic programs that take at least two years to complete. To qualify for a CAP Grant, the total expected family contribution (EFC) toward the student's educational expenses cannot exceed $4,617.

Massachusetts Gilbert Matching Student Grant Program
The Massachusetts Gilbert Matching Student Grant Program (GMSGP) makes funds available to participating Massachusetts' institutions of higher education and schools of nursing. At least one hundred percent of such funds must be used for direct financial assistance to needy Massachusetts's undergraduate students to enable them to attend or continue to attend such institutions.

KFC Colonel Scholars Program
KFC Colonel's Scholars enables high school students with entrepreneurial drive, strong perseverance and demonstrated financial need, to pursue up to four years of study at an accredited public insitution in the state they reside. This program is offered to high school seniors planning to attend a public in-state college or university. Students who meet the criteria may apply online to become a KFC’s Colonel’s Scholar. Students selected for this scholarship are eligible to receive up to $20,000 to complete a bachelor’s degree program.

MASSGrant Program
MASSGrant is a grant assistance program funded by appropriations from the Massachusetts Legislature. The MASSGrant program provides need-based financial assistance to undergraduate students who reside in Massachusetts and who are enrolled in and pursuing a program of higher education in any approved public or independent college, university, school of nursing or any other approved institution furnishing a program of higher education.

Missouri Minority Teaching Scholarships 
The Missouri Minority Teaching Scholarship is a $3000 award, which is renewable for up to four years. Applicants must be a resident of Missouri, be an African-American, Asisan-American, Hispanic-American or Native American, be a high school senior, college student, or returning adult (without a degree) who ranked in the top 25% of their high school class or scored at or above the 75th percentile on the ACT or SAT examination; or be an individual who has completed 30 college hours and has a cumulative GPA of 3.0; be an individual with a baccalaureate degree who is returning to an approved math or science teacher education program, attend an approved teacher education program at a community college or college or university in Missouri.

Gates Millennium Scholarships 
The GMS program is more than just a scholarship. Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting
The Educational Foundation awards scholarships to women who are pursuing accounting degrees at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The Nina Scholars Program is dedicated to providing educational opportunities for individuals who would not normally receive traditional academic scholarships, and whose personal commitments and financial circumstances would preclude their attendance without substantial, long-term scholarship support.

Kentucky Tuition Grant 
The Kentucky Tuition Grant (KTG) Program provides need-based grants to qualified Kentucky residents to attend the Commonwealth's independent colleges. Eligible institutions must be accredited by a regional accrediting association as listed in Kentucky statute KRS 164.740(17) and not be comprised solely of religious instruction.

The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation is one of the largest  sources of   scholarship aid in Southwestern New York. A majority of the scholarships are administered by the Foundation for the benefit of graduates of Chautauqua County high schools.

Iris-Samuel Rothman $10,000 Scholarship Opportunity for Young Men
The Iris-Samuel Rothman Scholarship is being offered to young men who have lost a parent and are wishing to further their education. Five recipients are selected each year with awards ranging from $1,000 up to $10,000 based on need. Application Deadline is Ongoing.

Datatel Foundation
The Datatel Scholars Foundation announces the addition of two new scholarship opportunities and a matching grants program to the current program beginning in 2001. The Nancy Goodhue Lynch scholarship (one award of $5,000 for any student enrolled in a technology-related curriculum) and the Returning Student Scholarship (25 awards of $1,000 each for any student returning to school after a five-year absence), have been added to enhance the program. In order to be eligible, applicants must attend a Datatel client college or university during the year of the award. The Gates Millennium Scholars Program
High School Seniors - High school principals, teachers, and counselors will be invited to nominate high school seniors planning to enter college for a Gates Millennium Scholars award. Undergraduate Students - College presidents, professors, and deans will be invited to nominate students currently enrolled in college who will continue undergraduate study in the academic year. Graduate Students - College presidents, professors, and deans will be invited to nominate students planning to enroll or already enrolled in graduate school for the academic year. 

Orange County Community Foundation - California
Application due dates range from late February to mid-April. Usually, by early January each year, application information and forms have been posted on related web pages and mailed to the staff person at each appropriate public or private high school who is responsible for scholarship information. The above page has a list of ten different scholarships.

Supports K-12 education particularly in the fields of science, math and technology; and higher education including scholarships provide college scholarships for engineering, vulnerable and limited income populations

Franklin Lindsay Student Aid Fund - Texas
Loans of up to $3,000 per academic year, but not exceeding an aggregate amount of $12,000 for the student's school career, may be granted to any worthy student, at the discretion of the Committee.

Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund 
Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund, a program of the Talbots Charitable Foundation, will award $100,000 in scholarships to women determined to finally get that college degree. Five women will each be awarded $10,000 scholarships, and 50 women will each be awarded $1,000 scholarships. All applicants must be seeking an undergraduate degree from an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or vocational-technical school. Only applicants seeking a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university are eligible to receive a $10,000 award. Scholarship awards are based primarily on financial need and previous achievements for women who earned their high school diploma or GED at least 10 years ago.

Women's Independence Scholarship Program
Created in 1999 to help formerly battered women overcome barriers to the education necessary for their becoming employable and financially stable. The primary intent is to help single mothers with young children who have the greatest financial challenges (childcare costs, etc.) to gain work skills so they can support their families.

Watson-Brown Foundation 
Scholarships are reserved for students from Georgia or South Carolina who attend four-year, non-profit accredited U.S. colleges and universities. Scholarships are awarded to high school seniors and current undergraduate students.
