Government Grants
   

  • A Better Chance
    A privately funded Boston- based program that provides students from disadvantaged school districts, most of them in inner cities, the opportunity to attend many of the nation's finest college preparatory and public schools.
  • American Association of Hispanic Certified Public Accountant - Scholarships
    The American Association of Hispanic Certified Public Accountants is now accepting applications for its 2000 scholarship program. All applications must be postmarked by September 15, 2000 and should be  mailed to the address below. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
  • American Meteoreological Association - Scholarships and Fellowships
    In addition to AMS's society awards and medals, AMS presents AMS Industry/Minority Scholarships, AMS/Industry Undergraduate Scholarships, AMS Undergraduate Scholarships, and AMS/Industry/Government Graduate Fellowships to the nation's future meteorologists, oceanographers, hydrologists, and climatologists each year.
  • Association for Women in Communications 
    NYWICI offers scholarships, career fairs and networking opportunities to students attending colleges and universities in the New York City area. Area students must join our parent organization, the Association for Women in Communications, before joining NYWICI. You then automatically become NYWICI members at no additional charge.
  • America's Junior Miss Scholarship Program
    A national scholarship competition that honors the nation's outstanding high school senior women, with over $5 million in scholarship awards available annually. No entry fee.
  • Black Student Fund
    The Black Student Fund awards tuition grants, in conjunction with our Participating Schools, to black children of modest financial means attending academically challenging institutions, grades pre-kindergarten through 12.
  • Business and Professional Women's Foundation
    This year, the Foundation will award approximately 200 grants through the various scholarship programs. One of the requirements is that you be a woman 25 years of age or older and a citizen of the United States.
  • Development Fund for Black Students in Science and Technology
    Provides scholarships to Black students who choose technical fields of study (Science and Engineering) at historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
  • The Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting 
    The mission of The Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting is to support the advancement of women in the accounting profession through the funding of education, research, career literature, publications and other projects.
  • The Falu Foundation Scholarship
    The Falu Foundation Scholarship offers $1000.00 Scholarships to young Latino students interested in pursuing a Career in Technology. These Scholarships are intended to help pay for those studies.
  • The Florida Education Fund
    Assisting minorities, and African Americans in higher education, and work.
  • Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia - Fellowships
    The Foundation awards two or more fellowships each year to law students who spend the summer working at organizations that serve the legal needs of under-privileged Latinos in the D.C. Metropolitan Area.

 

 

  • Hispanic College Fund, Inc. 
    A business partnership for higher education. Providing scholarships to Hispanic undergraduate students majoring in business.
  • Hispanic College Fund Scholarships  
    The eligibility criteria and the new scholarship application for academic year 2000-2001 are now available. Must have been accepted or be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited institution of higher education actively pursuing an academic discipline leading to a career in business. Students enrolled in community or junior colleges are eligible to apply provided they intend to enroll in and obtain a bachelor degree from a four-year institution. Must be a U.S. citizen of Hispanic origin residing in either of the fifty states or U.S. territories. 
  • Hispanic Scholarship Fund   
    Provides with information on 46 different organizations and businesses that provide scholarships to Latinos.
  • Indian-American Scholarship Fund
  • Latin American Educational Foundation
    The Latin American Educational Foundation (LAEF) offers scholarships, community collaborations, and support programs to improve Hispanic student access to higher education. This local organization serves Colorado residents only.
  • Microsoft National Minority Technical Scholarship 
    To be eligible for a National Minority Technical Scholarship, the student must be a member of one of the following groups underrepresented in the software industry: African American, Hispanic, or Native American. To be eligible for the National Women’s Technical Scholarship, the student must be female.
  • Minority Geoscience Student Scholarship Program for Graduate Students
    Qualifiers: A. United States citizens only. Permanent residents (green card) or applicants for U.S citizenship are not eligible. B. Verifiable ethnic-minority status as Black, Hispanic, or Native American (American Indian, Eskimo, Hawaiian, or Samoan).  C. Financial support is for FULL TIME students only, with demonstrable financial need, and enrolled in an accredited institution as a graduate student majoring (i.e., degree candidate) in geoscience, including the geoscience subdisciplines of geology, geophysics, geochemistry, hydrology, meteorology, physical oceanography, planetary geology, or earth-science education. This program does not support students in other natural sciences, mathematics, engineering, or any non-geoscience field.
  • Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship
    The Government Finance Officers Association ("GFOA") of the United States and Canada Minorities in Government  Finance Scholarship of $3,500 will be awarded in 1999 to an upper-division undergraduate or graduate student of public administration, (governmental) accounting, finance, political science, economics, or business administration (with a specific focus on government or nonprofit management).
  • Miss America Organization Scholarships  
    The Miss America Organization is a not-for-profit corporation established solely to provide contestants with the opportunity to enhance their professional and educational goals, and to achieve those pursuits with the assistance of monetary grants and awards.
  • Miss Texas Scholarships
    Scholarship funds are contributed by corporate sponsors and individuals who commit their support to the professional advancement of young men and women.
  • The National Educational Clearinghouse
    The National Educational Clearinghouse is a program that provides Hispanic students with scholarship and financial aid information. One of its main functions is the free Personal Scholarship Search. This service is provided by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, Inc.
  • National  Hispanic Foundation for the Arts
    The scholarship program seeks applicants who are pursuing disciplines leading to careers in the entertainment arts and industry. These disciplines include, but are not limited to: Acting; Theater; Radio & Television, Film; Music; Set Design; Costume Design; Lighting Design; Motion Picture Production; and Playwriting. 
  • The National Society of Hispanic MBAs  -
    The Scholarship Program was established to assist in the mission of NSHMBA. This program provides financial assistance to Hispanic students pursuing a Masters degree in management/business. NSHMBA scholarships range from $2,000 to $5,000 and one for $10,000.
  • Native American Journalists Association
    Information on goals and programs. Scholarships and workshops for high school and college students available.
  • Scholarships Available to Women

  • Scholarships Based on Ethnicity or National Origin 
    A large number of scholarships for you to review and select.
  • The United Negro College Fund
    The College Fund/UNCF awards scholarships primarily to students attending its member colleges/universities. Generally, once you receive a UNCF scholarship, it may be renewed if you continue to meet the eligibility requirements and if funds are available.
  • Woodson Institute - Afro-American Studies Fellowships/Grants
  • The World of Knowledge Foundation, Inc.  
    Our mission is to help people in America’s culturally diverse communities, foreign national students and immigrants meet with success by providing funding for educational scholarships, grants and materials.
  • The Coleman A. Young Foundation - Detroit
    The Foundation believes that, with proper encouragement and sufficient support, disadvantaged youths can and will 1) excel academically, 2) set career goals that meet the needs of the Detroit community, 3) develop stronger leadership skills and 4) become Detroit’s future leading citizens.
